Hi mes Coeurs de Beurre,
Hong Kong (although being an amazing place) can be difficult to endure when it comes to summer, with temperatures raising to 30/35 degrees (or even more) along with high levels of humidity.
Our first thoughts would be to pack only light and perspiration-proof clothes for baby, of course you have to for your discharge from the maternity ward, but be prepared with warm layette sets as:
- Baby lived for 9 months in mama’s belly where the temperature is very confortable at 37 degrees, so basically living his best life at the beach in the Philippines and suddenly landing in Paris in February. You must be ready to protect him with clothes that regulate his temperature.
- Hong Kong is the dream place for AirConditioner companies, air con is everywhere, every time (for multiple good or questionable questions that we will not mention today haha), but anyway baby is not used to this fresh air, like us, foreigners when we arrived for the first time in Hong Kong and went shopping in a mall was identical to opening the door of the fridge… brrruuuhh freezing.
Our lovely suggestion:
- Pyjamas set with hat and gloves https://coeurdebeurre.com/products/set-pyjama-petit-coeur-light-pink
- Set for the next days https://coeurdebeurre.com/products/set-newborn-coeur-de-beurre-beige
- A blanket (optional but always good to have) https://coeurdebeurre.com/products/blanket-born-in-hong-kong and always better when it's embroidered « Born in Hong Kong »
- Sleep sack is most of the time highly recommended https://coeurdebeurre.com/products/sleeping-bag-born-in-hong-kong, with « Born in Hong Kong » it’s even more cute ;)
These are only recommendations; it is essential to first follow the instructions of your gynecologist, midwife and/or hospital.
